Frequently Asked Questions

We can get you great results for a fraction of the price of hiring. By understanding your business model and marketing strategy, we can create you a website that is perfectly aligned.

We advise against making 1 page websites if you are a business that offers multiple products or services. 1 page websites work against Google’s criteria on page ranking and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), but also make it difficult for businesses to scale their SEO up.

In order to get organic traffic to the website from Google, you will need to rank well for multiple keywords / search queries that have a high search volume. Currently Google ranks pages based on:

  • Meaning
  • Relevance
  • Quality
  • Usability
  • Context

We argue that a 1 page website will always fail to meet the relevance and usability criteria when trying to target multiple keywords / search queries, and also poses issues for SEO scalability (when adding new products & services to the website). The reason is threefold:

  1.  SEO meta title must contain the keywords / search queries to rank for them. If you have multiple services – for example “WordPress website service” & “Shopify website service”, then the title will be unfocused. Google recommends that the SEO Title should be 50–60 characters in length maximum. If too long, Google may reject this or truncate it so that Google users can’t see all of it on their device.
  2. The SEO meta description should be optimised, adding more context to each of the keywords / search queries that you’ve chosen to rank for. Google recommends that the ideal length should be 50 and 160 characters. If too long, Google may reject this or truncate it so that Google users can’t see all of it on their device.
  3. The usability suffers as users have to spend more time looking for relevant information. If the user searches for “WordPress building service” in Google and then clicks onto a 1 page website, they will likely see a page title that’s irrelevant. They might just navigate away from the website because they think it’s not what they are looking for. Even if they decide to stay on the page, they will then have to move past lots of irrelevant information about the brand and other services before they get to the information that they want to find. Whilst you could have quick links at the top of the page to speed up navigation, the system has to be very well designed and maintained  (particularly for mobile) – especially if there are lots of sections to the page. Best to avoid this altogether.
Business scalability also becomes a problem for 1 page websites. Trying rank in Google for any new services becomes impossible as adding more keywords / search queries to the SEO meta title may be rejected by Google itself. This will mean that certain services of yours will have to be excluded, along with any organic traffic.

Theme: Hello Theme

Page Builder: Elementor

We start every project off from a custom website template that we built in house. This speeds up the website building process considerably.

Hello theme is very lightweight, and ensures the website will have miximum performance.

We build all of our websites with Elementor page builder. It’s great for designing websites, and makes the process of editing websites easier. Business owners can easily update website content.

I ask for 50% of the fees to be paid upfront. The last 50% is paid at the end of the project. This ensures commitment from both parties to start and finish the project.

After the website is built, there are a few additional steps:

  1. Purchase a domain name (For example www.domain.com)
  2. Find a hosting service for your WordPress website
  3. Point your domain name to your website
  4. Test your website for any errors
